History: 

The Manawatu Touch Association was formed in 1989. It is a non-profit organisation that is registered as an incorporated society.

Manawatu is one of the sixteen(16) touch associations which are governed by the National Body Touch New Zealand.  It has approximately 5,000 members with two(2) affiliated modules (competition) incorporated, incorporating 140 teams.

There is currently one affiliated secondary school module, incorporating 150 children.

Additionally a Junior Module facilitates 1,200 children participating from schools from Palmerston North and the greater Manawatu.
